Greensboro, NC- Virginia Tech senior cornerback Victor "Macho" Harris was named first-team All-ACC Monday afternoon, as selected by ACSMA/AP, the media association for the Atlantic Coast Conference. Four other Hokies were named to the second team while three were named to the honorable mention squad.

Nashville, Tenn- Radford women’s hoops took on No. 16 Vanderbilt, Tuesday evening from Memorial Gymnasium and dropped 78-41 decision to the 16th-ranked Commodores. Senior Vandy Pullen (Arlington, Va./Maine) scored a team high 14 points.

Boys

Eastern Montgomery 97 Craig County 25- The Mustangs shot down the Rockets with a 54-point first half performance in Elliston Tuesday night. Leading 54-16 at the half, the 'Stangs held CC to on 9-second half points including a scoreless 4th quarter. Henry Hall led the way with 29-points while Shawn Christian added 17-points.

Pulaski County 84 Abingdon 59- The Cougars bombarded Abingdon with 48-first half points going on to an 84-59 win. PC's W.C. Burgess scored 12-points in the win while Tevin Mattox added 11.

Narrows 83 Rural Retreat 44- Mark Martin and Ben Thompson led the Green Wave to a 39-point victory over the Retreat Tuesday night. Martin scored 16-points while Thompson added 10. The Wave took a 22-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Auburn 69 Pathway Christian 58 - The Eagles defeated Pathway in a non-district matchup.

Girls

Craig County 45 Eastern Montgomery 34- The Rockets took a one point lead at half, but stretched the lead late in the fourth period on 80% free throw shooting taking the non-district win over the Mustangs. The Mustangs were led by Alaina Phoenix's 14-points.

Auburn 53 George Wythe 50- Kayla Mitchell led the Lady Eagles with 15-points in the defeat of the Maroons.

Floyd County 63 Pulaski County 50- The Lady Buffaloes defeated Pulaski County 63-50 in a non-district contest in Floyd Tuesday night. Led by Taylor Hartman's 17-points, FC took a 32-28 halftime lead and coasted in the last two quarters.

Christiansburg 51 Graham 45- The Blue Demons defeated the G-Men in a non-district contest.

 
Jim Hawkins Bowls Perfect 300 Game Monday Night at NRV SuperBowl Print E-mail

Monday night proved to be a perfect night for senior bowler Jim Hawkins. The 195 average kegler rolled a 300 game in the Golden Years Senior League at the NRV SuperBowl.

The SuperBowl has one of the most active array of senior competitiors in the state of Virginia. Hawkins rolled a 269 game on the evening to support his "trip to perfection". He concluded the night with a 761 series.

The NRV SuperBowl and www.nrvsports.com congratulates Mr. Hawkins on a night that he or any of his teammates and compeitiors will never forget.
