Tonight is the 2008 Homecoming Game for the Blacksburg Bruins. This year the BHS Homecoming Court includes Stacey Reynolds, Mo McGraw and Zach Phelps for the freshman class, Sarah Dorrell, Gabby Stephenson, Danny Hulbert and Chris Arthur for the sophomores, and Blaize Rai, Emily Hall and Jack Cooper for the junior class. The senior class is represented by Sallie Drumheller, Sammy Clark, Minoka Gunesekera and Ling Beisecker for the girls, and Ryan Burbey, Yonie Haim, Brent Warner and Buddy Dryman for the boys. |

The new Bill Brown Stadium will open tonight at the Blacksburg Middle School on Price's Fork Road as the Bruins host the Northside Vikings. The $1.2 million project began over a year ago and was scheduled to be open August 29th for the first game but delays in the project pushed the opening date to tonight. The "opening ceremonies" will be held October 24th for the Blacksburg High School Homecoming. Also ,Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets will raise the flag prior to tonight's game. |

The Blacksburg High School Bruins welcomed their fans to the new Bill Brown Stadium with the best possible gift- a hard earned victory. Senior QB Trey Gresh fired three touchdown aerials as he led the Bruins to 28-25 victory over Northside. Gresh connected with fellow senior Eric Houff on first quarter touchdowns of 5 and 24 yards. The final touchdown toss to Jon Jennings in the final stanza clinched the victory which moved the Bruins mark to 4-1. |

Blacksburg 28- Liberty 13 Blacksburg continued to be a big early surprise for many local fans as they upped their undefeated record to 3-0 with a convincing 28-13 victory over Liberty High School. |
