Floyd County's volleyball team came out on the positive side of its first scrimmages of the 2008 season for both the varsity and junior varsity outfits.

The varsity squad scrimmaged Craig County yesterday and the Lady Buffaloes, under first year head coach Sue Hollandsworth, swept their opponent by a four games to none margin.

The junior varsity squad faced Craig County during the inagural scrimmaged and defeated their opponents by a two games to one decision.

Coach Hollandsworth's squad will return to the friendly confines of Floyd County for thier final scrimmage on Tuesday, August 19th at 6:00pm. The regular season opener for the Lady Buffaloes will be a home contest against Christiansburg.
