Amherst County (11-1 Overall) @ Pulaski County (12-0) The Cougars haven't been scored on the past eight quarters, With two wins in the playoffs (Blacksburg 42-0 and Salem 38-0) PC looks to Amherst County as the true test of its armour. The Lancers only loss came at the hands of the #1 Group AA team Brookville earlier in the year. AC is the defending Group AA D-4 state champs (two years in a row) and play with confidence. They are not intimidated by the size or speed of PC. The Cougars are led by senior running back Nubian Peak- Virginia Tech bound- and the best defense in this part of the state. PC isn't intimidated by the Lancer size or speed either. Hear the game on WPSK 107.1FM starting at 1:30pm for the pregame show. |

The Detroit Lions will be playing their traditional Thanksgiving Day game ( a real turkey). Dallas plays Seattle (hardly a contested match-up). For Pulaski County fans, the real football activity will take place in Dublin as the Cougars will have their regional championship team practice on Thanksgiving morning. All Cougar fans are invited to come out and support the team as they walk out of the fieldhouse (one of the most majestic cermonies in high school football in the state of Virginia). The team will begin their walk at 9:30am on Thursday to begin practice. . The Touchdown Club and supporters of the team are also planning to have balloons and banners for Saturday's game. There is the hope for supporters to have cardinal/gold/white balloons placed on the steps and home side of the bleachers. Additionally, they are inviting those interested to bring notes and banners that will be placed in the tunnel as the players walk out for their final game at Kenneth Dobson Stadium this year. (Writer's note)--- Join in the fun this weekend and share in what will become a lifetime of memories for the athletes and students at Pulaski County High School. |
