Nashville, Tenn- Radford women’s hoops took on No. 16 Vanderbilt, Tuesday evening from Memorial Gymnasium and dropped 78-41 decision to the 16th-ranked Commodores. Senior Vandy Pullen (Arlington, Va./Maine) scored a team high 14 points.

Charlottesville, Va.- Virginia hit five of six free throws in the final 2:35, coming from behind to defeat Radford, 68-66, in non-conference men's basketball at John Paul Jones Arena Friday night.

After a fall-away jumper from the left baseline by senior Kenny Thomas (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) with just under four minutes left cut the Cavalier (3-0) lead to 61-59, a pair of free throws from classmate Martell McDuffy (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) at 3:26 tied the game, 61-61.

Artsiom Parakhouski led all scorers with 19 points and three Highlanders finished in double figures to cruise past Bridgewater College 86-46 in men’s hoops action at Peters Hall Gym.

Blacksburg, Va.- Radford fell at Virginia Tech, 78-54, Tuesday evening from Cassell Coliseum. Juniors Charron Leeper (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) and Kymesha Alston (Hampton, Va.) each tallied a team high 11 points and game best eight rebounds. Senior Johnette Walker (Columbia, S.C./Irmo) contributed with 11 points and a game high five steals.
