Virginia’s top junior golfers, including Blacksburg’s Courtney Ellenbogen, Floyd County's Jessica Hollandsworth and Michael Wade, along with Radford's Zeke Shaffer, will be among more than 150 of the nation’s finest junior golfers competing today thru Sunday in the 25th annual Scott Robertson Memorial Junior Golf Tournament at Roanoke Country Club in Roanoke.

The competitors were selected from over 400 applications for all four divisions. (Boys/Girls 15 to 18; Boys/Girls 14 and under). This year's field will consist of over 150 of the country’s best junior golfers representing 26 states and 12 different countries.

The Scott Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament, a 54-hole stroke play event, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this weekend. The tournament is held in memory of Scott
Robertson, a promising young Roanoke Country Club golfer who passed away as a result of infectious mononucleosis in the summer of 1982. The Scott Robertsonc Memorial Golf Tournament is a recognized event by the American Junior Golf
Association and the boys and girls winners are automatically AJGA All Americans.

The Scott Robertson has continued to grow over the years, in size, strength of field and popularity. This year’s field will feature a number of golfers from the boys and girls Junior Golf Scoreboard top 50 respectively.

The winner in each division will receive a trophy bearing the tournament logo, as well as the traditional prize of having a tree planted in their honor on the Roanoke Country Club golf course.
