Eleven- year NFL veteran and former Hokie football player Pierson Prioleau, collected his first Super Bowl ring Sunday night after New Orleans defeated the Colts 31-17. A back-up DB for the Saints, Prioleau came to New Orleans from Jacksonville during the off season. |

Chase Williams, a linebacker from Northern Virginia and a top Virginia Tech football recruit signee, has had success on the football field in high school. His dad Greg, has had success on the football field as well except papa did it in the NFL. Greg Williams, the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, is smiling now as his team won Super Bowl XXXXIV defeating the Colts 31-17 in Miami Sunday night, The Hokies continue their Redskin conection as Williams was once the D C for the 'Skins. |

All-American defensive back Cody Grimm of Virginia Tech has every reason to be proud of his career as a Hokie. Well, what about his dad? Russ Grimm, the former "Hog" on the Washington Redskins offensive line in the '80's and '90's who played in four Pro Bowls, won three Super Bowls and was named to the All-Decade team of '80's, was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame over the weekend. |

Scoring one thousand points in a career is an accomplishment that a great deal of high school basketball players set as a goal. Scoring them less than halfway through your junior season is indeed a rare accomplishment. Maryah Syndor, a junior do-everything player for Radford High School’s very successful girls basketball team, accomplished both of those goals this year. The watershed mark occurred against Floyd County, a team the Lady Bobcats can expect to meet as many as three more times this year. |
