Sams hits two homers Pulaski, Va.-The Pulaski Mariners baseball team provided the real fireworks at Calfee Park Friday night as five different batters hit....... homeruns and a team collective of 19-hits defeating the Princeton Devil Rays 14-3. Jonathon Aries started the homerunfest in the top of the second with a two run shot to left giving the Mariners a one run lead. Then , Kalian Sams smacks the first of two homeruns- the first in the bottom of the third with two runners aboard- Next, in the bottom of the fifth, Sams knocked the ball over the centerfield fence for solo homerun. Juan Fuentes started the fifth with a solo HR shot of his own. The fireworks continued in the sixth as Kris Sanchez hit a three-run homer- his third of the season. The three-run homer capped off a 4-run inning. Finally, Jose Rivero opened the bottom of the 8th inning with a solo shot to right-center. The Mariners improve their record to 9-8 while the Devil Rays fall to 8-10.
