Hokie junior continues strong showing

Toluca, Mexico- Rising junior Kristi Castlin placed second for the United States in the 100-meter hurdles at the North American, Central American and Caribbean [NACAC] ...

.....under-23 Championships on Sunday at the Alberto "Chivo" Cordova Stadium in Toluca, Mexico.

Castlin sprinted a 13.21 to earn a runner-up finish in the six-athlete field made up of runners from around the continent. 2008 NCAA 100-meter hurdle champion Tiffany Ofili won the race with a time of 12.82.

Sunday's performance continues Castlin's pattern of strong showings in international competitions. The Douglasville, Ga. native won the gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2007 Pan American Junior Championships. Castlin will be looking for her third-consecutive
ACC 100-meter hurdle title in 2009.
