Christiansburg High School has finalized plans to honor Kenneth Gibson prior to the Blue Demons home opener this Friday.

Gibson, a former student and athlete at Christiansburg High, was recently killed while serving in Iraq. The tribute will begin with the Christiansburg Police Department presenting colors fifteen minutes prior to the 7:30 kick-off.

Following the presenting of colors, there will be a moment of silence. The school will then recognize family members in attendance.

Kirk Litton, the school's athletic director, will then have brief remarks on behalf of the Montgomery County high school. The tribute will then conclude with a playing of taps.
