The NRV SuperBowl will be host this Sunday to a fund raiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society with a special tournament beginning at 2pm. "Bowl for a Cure" is designed to support the National MS Society as they "fight for a cure for Muliple Sclerosis." The tournament is a joint venture of the promotion department at the SuperBowl and other local businesses in the New River Valley. In addition to "having fun" competing in one of the world's leading participant sports, there will be a raffle with prizes including a Nintendo Wii, Autograph football from Frank Beamer and over a thousand dollars worth of gift certificates from the New River Valley. All participants will also receive a "goody bag" for their involvement on Sunday. Included in the bag will coupons from Dick's Sporting Goods, gifts by Stellar One plus much more. Since its inception, the SuperBowl has served as a center for many charities in the area. In addition to the NMSS this weekend, they have contributed to many organizations using their facities as an avenue for allowing local residents to "give back" while having fun. The proceeds from the tournament will be donated by the SuperBowl to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information on the tournament, you can call 382-5525 and ask for Ashley Harbour, the Marketing Director at the NRV SuperBowl. The NMSS is in the process of preparing for their "Best of the Blue Ridge-The Artie Levin Memoral Ride", which will take place on September 27-28th. Levin was an institution on WDBJ's morning show for many years. Although he did not have Multiple Sclerosis, his legendary contribution to the area included his dedication to the awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. When contacting the National MS Society's regional office, they sent the informatio below regarding the Artie Levin Memorial Ride.
