The Pulaski County High School JV Cougar Football team got a big win Thursday night at Kenneth J. Dobson Stadium, defeating the Patrick Henry Patriots 37-26.
It was a back and forth battle for most of the game, as neither team was willing to throw in the towell. With a little over 3 minutes left in the contest, the Cougars intercepted a Patriot pass, giving the Cougars excellent field position. Two plays later, sophomore quarterback Chad Perry ran a quarterback bootleg all the way to the endzone to put Pulaski up by three scores, seeming to put the contest out of reach.
The Patriots wouldnt give in, however, and after a long kickoff return, the PH runner broke free to bring the Patriots back within 11 points. After an unsuccesfull onside kick attempt, the Cougars were able to gain a first down to end the game. The Cougar varsity team gets back into action on Friday night when they travel to play Patrick Henry on the road in Roanoke. Game time is 7:30 pm. |
