If your looking for excuses for last week's debacle in Charlotte, there are none. Even though many Tech fans point to the fact that Macho Harris was absent and Blake DeChristopher was injured in the first offensive series, the team in white held a 9-point lead in the fourth period and lost. So, what will the Hokies have to do today to win? Here are my keys to the game: 1. Start Tyrod- This is a no-brainer and Tyrod should've played last week. 2. Run the football- The offensive line is supposed to be the mainstay of the team. Use them effectively. Establish the running game! Don't pass the ball just for the sake of passing. Glennon was asked to operate an offensive scheme that makes no sense so he was doomed for failure from the start. With all that said..... 3. Grind it out! Dominate the Furman defense today by using the superior talent up front. This O line needs a confidence builder. This is the opportunity to do that. There is nothing wrong with using clock. Three yards and a cloud of dust won't put many points on the board but five yards and a cloud of dust will. DOMINATE! 4. Put pressure on the Furman QB. Don't allow him to sit in the pocket and throw. Force him out of the pocket and use the OLB's for containment. Bud, you've done it before, you can do it again. 5. Make X-tra points! The kicking game has to get better. 6. Last but not least, let these players know this is the start of a new season. ECU is behind them and better things are ahead.
